FROM THE DESK OF SIMON D.I.

CPNK XX is coming TONIGHT.

In order to ensure the greatest, most exciting damn show that we can provide for you Punks, we had to slightly delay the recording of the amazing episode 20 aka CPNK XX.

It will be up and running tonight, baby!  So watch CPNK XX Prologue a few more times, download some older CPNK Video and some older episodes, and pump yourself up for the magic and mystery that is CPNK XX.

FROM THE DESK OF SIMON D.I.

So as you all remember, a few months ago I erased/shut down/destroyed our forums, as I was absolutely disgusted at SEVERAL forums, pricks on XBOX LIVE and the internet in general.  Also, I didn't really see a point to forums, as the Podcast itself IS a forum for us and fellow Cyberpunks to communicate on.

However, I have received no less than two dozen emails asking me to bring the Cyberpunks Forum back.  I stand firm in my decision to have nothing to do with forums, as they are nothing more than a breeding ground for terrible grammar, bad attitudes, trash talking, racism, sexism, homophobia, ignorance and plain-old dumbassery.

So anyways, Mike and I will discuss this on CPNK XIX some more, but if you are dying to have a Cyberpunks Forum to post on, let email me at cyberpunksgaming@yahoo.com or just let me know here in the comments section!

See you folks Saturday morning!  Until then, Stay Hi-Tech and Lo-Life!

What's up, Punks?  I just wanted to throw a few quick things out there since it's only Tuesday, and I figure I'd give all the Cyberpunks a few things to do until CPNK XVIII.

First of all, here are a few sites to check out a.s.a.p.  These are all close friends of mine, and they do a great job running their respective businesses/companies/podcasts.
www.twenzor.org
www.chasingculture.com (I forgot to mention this on XVII.  Sorry, Chase)
www.streettech.com
www.cyberpunkreview.com
www.gamehounds.net
www.cheapassgamer.com

Also, just as a reminder, make sure to check me out on the UAV JAMMERS Podcast @ www.twenzor.org, and on the weekly Gamehounds Humpdate Podcast @ www.gamehounds.net!

So, I don't know whether or not to be morally conflicted with this, but here goes;  If you leave us an iTunes review, your name will be entered into a contest to win a Cyberpunk As Hell prize.

And finally, in the comments for this post, if you would like to be a part of this week's OVERDRIVE segment, just post your "Most Embarrassing Video Game-Related Experience."  Mike D.I. and I will do ours, and then we'll mention fellow Cyberpunk stories.

You can also email us at any time at cyberpunksgaming@yahoo.com

O.k., Punks, until Friday morning,
Stay Hi-Tech and Lo-Life

What's up, Punks?  As you know, I'm a huge fan of shouting out Podcasts and just Websites in general that I love visiting!  So because of this, I've decided to create the official CPNK AWARDS!

Every week, Mike D.I. and I will award one of these beautiful Trophies (ah...well, a jpeg of a beautiful Trophy) to a Website that we f'n love!

We will, of course, add the URL to the nameplate so that the website can display their proudest accomplishment on their front page.

If you have a website or KNOW a website that you think should be nominated for a CPNK AWARD, just post a comment, send an email (cyberpunksgaming@yahoo.com) or catch me on XBOX LIVE (Simon D I)!

What's up, Cyberpunks?  I hope you're all having a great Memorial Day Weekend!  Of course, make sure to have a moment of silence and prayer for troops we've lost, not only in the current fight, but in any fight, in any country, in any generation!

Also, thanks to everyone who's been checking out the show!  I can see that word of mouth is spreading about the Cyberpunks Podcasts, as we just keep getting more and more listeners every week!

Make sure to check out all of the Podcasts on www.platformnation.com including www.gamehounds.net, on which I have a co-host spot on their weekly "Humpdate" Podcast.

So, growing up reading Electronic Gaming Monthly, Gamepro, Nintendo Power and all those other Gaming Mags, I always wondered how awesome it would be to visit E3.

For those of you who somehow don't know what E3 is; it's like the Superbowl,...it's like Wrestlemania, it's like...well...it's a BIG DEAL!

Anyways, speculation has it that E3 is either going to not exist, or not be as important of an event by 2009/2010.  My dream, ladies and gentlemen, is to BE AT E3 2009!  Of course,...you need an invitation to go nowadays, but that's what I'm getting at.

I feel that CyberpunksGaming.Com can become such a unique and influential Gaming presence that Mike and I will gain entry into next year's Gala Gaming Expo!

Hey, man...you're never too old to have a dream, right?  So if anyone wants to hook up the D.I.s, or if you have any tips on how to reach this grand feat, let us know!

I will, of course, keep everyone updated on Operation: E3 throughout the course of the year!

FROM THE DESK OF SIMON D. IVANOFF

What's up, Punks?

First of all, I just want to say "thank you" for supporting our show for the last few months!  Also, I want to thank everyone that listened to the Gamehounds Humpdate Podcast that I was featured on!  (If you have not heard it yet, scroll down and you will see the Blog Post)

I'm sitting at work as of this writing, almost EXPLODING with excitement, because I'm going to get home, get Mike D.I. off his PC (Probably watching Chunky Amateur Porn), and start recording Cyberpunks Weekly XIII!

I've gotta say, man;  After these last few months of doing Cyberpunks Gaming Podcasts, working with Gamehounds (www.gamehounds.net), and getting ready to work with Tw3nz0r (www.twenzor.org) on his upcoming Podcast,...I've realized what a great time I'm having doing this!

I've always thought that I would be a great Radio DJ, and this is the perfect way to live those dreams, man!  I mean...my bro and I LOVE Video Games, and I LOVE talking about them!  So...even if I get pissed off or riled up on the show, it's still a great experience, because Gaming is a huge part of my life (...and of all of your lives), that just thinking about an upcoming game, reminiscing on an old classic, or complaining about a game mechanic gets my heartrate up, man!

Anyways, make sure to tune in tonight around 10pm Central to get Cyberpunks Weekly XIII!

The first words that come to my mind are; "HOLY SHIT!"

You fellow Cyberpunks never cease to amaze me.  I usually check our show's download stats a few days after it's released, and I'm usually met with a nice big number, representing how many kick ass listeners we have.  However, I just checked the stats today and we have gained a LOT of listeners in the last week or so.

So thank you all for shouting us out on your shows, thank you all for telling your friends about us, and thank you all for the tons of feedback I've been getting which has greatly helped me improve the show's flow and content.

I think all we need is another 2 or 3 reviews on itunes to get to the top of the list of "cyberpunks" media.  (Unfortunately, Billy Idol's "Cyberpunk" album seems to be slightly more popular?!)

Anyways, thank you all for joining the Cyberpunks, and as always, if you have a show, business, gamertag, ANYTHING, just email it to me or leave it in these comments and I promise I'll shout you out at the next show!

As always, Stay Hi-Tech and Lo-Life!

Also: Preview for Episode #10.
-CheapAssGamer.Com and CyberpunksGaming.Com member "Twenzor" joins the show.

-"Moments in Cyberpunk History" segment debuts.

-"DAMN, That's Lo-Tech" returns with some reallllly bad electronics.

-Is Mike D.I. banned from the show like Simon D.I. said he'd be on #9?  He may be...

What's up, Cyberpunks?

I just want to say "thanks" to everyone that's checking out the show and supporting the site!

I'm trying to do a little more every week, but I'm curious as to what everyone would want to see/hear.  Im considering a short 5-10 minute weekly video podcast, but not too many of you download from iTunes, so we'll just continue to post our videos on Youtube.(http://youtube.com/user/CyberPunksGaming)

Also, I'm going to start putting out the Cyberpunks "Datajack," which will also be a short podcast dealing with specific topics (i.e., a Game Review or Interview).

Anyways, let me know what you guys would like to hear/see here in the comments section!

Thanks again for the iTunes Reviews, E-Mails and all-around good feedback!

Stay Hi-Tech and Lo-Life!

Damn.  Just when I thought the holiday gaming overload was over, another huge, amazing influx of games is headed our way!

Can somebody please tell me how I'm supposed to play (and enjoy) Army of Two, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Smash Bros, GTA4, Patapon, God of War: Chains of Olympus and Mario Kart Wii
-at the same time as-
Older games that I'm just now catching up on like Halo 3 Single Player, Gears of War (on a harder difficulty), Forza 2, the new Mass Effect content, the entire Orange Box, and even the old-as-hell System Shock 2 (PC).

Between working a 40-hour week, being the head of all media for a local band (www.chicagonetworkconnected.com), getting on some Call of Duty 4 with my fellow CAGs (www.cheapassgamer.com), and occasionally sleeping, I only have about 3 solid hours a day to actually play some games!  My weekends are also pretty much booked, since I do have a family and friends that I need to see once in a while!

So where do I begin?  All of these games at once is diminishing the gameplay experience for a lot of these games at an alarming rate!  ...damn...now I know how it feels to be a Pro Game Reviewer!

So ever since I picked up a PS3,  I've realized that NOBODY I know has one.  Well, almost nobody.  I've got a buddy at work who bought a PS3 at launch for the sole purpose of playing "Madden" online with his fellow sports friends.

Anyways, when I found out he had a PS3, I convinced him to rent Call of Duty 4, since I didn't know anyone that I could play online with, and I already had played the hell out of the XBOX 360 version.  So being a good friend, he played his first non-sports game just so that he can play online with me.

Well, just like in the mafia...he did me a favor, and now I must do him a favor.  That's right, folks, he asked me- NO-, he insisted, that I rent...MLB: the SHOW.

Oh man.  I don't think I've ever mentioned this...but I absolutely despise sports games!  As a matter of fact, I can't stand Baseball or Football!  Maybe this comes from growing up in Chicago, where we've had a civil war between the North and South Side for ages, and where we once had a great Basketball team, and where we once had a great football team.

But none of that matters now, as I must do my part of the bargain, and I must pay $5+ to rent this game, I must invest 2+ hours (at least) to learn how to play, and then I must invest another 2-10+ hours to play online with this guy, because apparently he doesn't have many buddies playing online either!

I'll definitely discuss this tragic situation in fine detail on episode #7.  But until then, pray for me and wish me luck in my Journey of Sports and Sorrow.

Hey, punks, what's goin' on?

This isn't big enough of a deal to talk about on the actual podcast, so I figured I'd talk about it a little here in a good old-fashioned "blog post!"

So as many of you remember, I have been talking about Lost Odyssey for a few weeks now.  I was extremely excited since the beginning of the year, leading up to its release.  Also, as some of you may remember, I ordered the game from GAMEFLY and it got stolen out of it's sleeve.  After that, I finally got the game and was able to experience it's beauty for the first time.

So, without making this a full-on review, I'll say this;  The game definitely looks current-gen (that's a good thing), the music is VERY memorable, and the combat has a few cool new tweaks to the traditional Turn-Based RPG.

One of the game's most innovative twists is that the enemies and bosses level up WITH YOU.  So for those of us who love to grind for a few hours and have a nice advantage for a few hours...those days are over!  This, of course, totally caught me off guard.  The bosses are more like a puzzle game, in that there's a VERY specific way to defeat them...a very specific way that you will die half a dozen times trying to figure out.

Now, I'm sure that many of you had no problem with these bosses, but I did, and after trying a good 10 times (10 tries on the boss battle = roughly 2 hours), I simply packaged the game up and sent it back to GAMEFLY.

I loved the game, but I just can't play it anymore!

I was listening to cheapassgamer.com's CAGcast, and the hosts, Cheapy D and Wombat were saying something along the lines of; "you know within the first 15 minutes of a game whether or not you will ever finish it."  And this, I guess, applies to this game.  Even though I was a good 3 hours in,...it's a 4-disc game, so that's about equivalent to 15 minutes, right?

Anyways, I DO recommend the game,...I just sucked at it!

What's up, Cyberpunks?  As you all know by now, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii came out on Sunday, March 9th.

We attended the midnight launch at our local Gamestop, and proceeded to eat dozens of White Castle "Sliders" and play the game into the morning.  However, when the smoke cleared, the friends left, and the party was over, Mike D.I. decided to try out the "Adventure Mode" to unlock some characters, trophies, and other cool stuff.

To this very moment, twenty-four hours later, he is still playing what is, in my opinion, the worst "Adventure Mode" in any game, ever!

I won't even go into it right now, because all that will accomplish is me writing a ten-page-long run-on sentence full of obscenities and offensive statements.  But consider this a warning for this week's podcast (Episode #6), a warning that...may not be PG-13.  I am extremely annoyed and angered over this aspect of an otherwise awesome game, and I want to go into explicit detail of why.

Anyways, besides that, I look forward to the new episode, and thanks again for everyone who checked out #5, and who's subscribed to our show!  We appreciate every listener!

If you have any questions or comments for us to read on the air, post them here in the comments, or just throw 'em up in the forums (www.cyberpunksgaming.com)!
